As Bangladesh try to claim the only win in the ongoing tri-nation series in Christchurch, they have set Pakistan a 173-run target after power hitting from Shakib Al Hassan and Liton Das.

A tune-up event for this month’s T20 World Cup in Australia, the Tigers haven’t been able to win any games in the triangular series.

In their first innings against Men in Green, Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first, but only managed to take five wickets of their aggressive adversaries.

Last league series

There are only two games left in the league series, and this is the last one.

There was already a strong possibility that Pakistan would qualify to play New Zealand in the final of the triangular series.

 As a result of winning their last match, the hosts are now level with Pakistan, who have two wins and a loss each.

On October 14 (Friday), the final will  held in Christchurch, just a few days before this month’s T20 World Cup kicks off in Australia.

Christchurch, New Zealand, was the destination for the Men in Green’s break yesterday. Wednesday’s fourth tri-series match between Pakistan and the hosts ended in defeat for the visitors.

A lackluster performance was display  the Men in Green in their third match of the series when they batted first and scored 130 runs as a result. In the 23 balls left in the innings, the Black Caps hammered Pakistan by nine wickets.

Black Caps defeated Bangladesh

Earlier this month, the Black Caps defeated Bangladesh by 48 runs with Glenn Phillips and Devon Conway scoring half-centuries. In the event Bangladesh loses their third consecutive tri-series match, they will not be able to reach the final.
