On Friday, Elon Musk unveiled the latest version of a humanoid robot he says could eradicate poverty one day.

Tesla AI Day presentation featured an Optimus prototype mounted on a small platform. During the demonstration, the robot raised its knees and waved at the audience.

Elon Musk is going to develop Humanoid robot

Elon Musk told the Silicon Valley audience that his goal is to develop a useful humanoid robot as soon as possible.

Despite the fact that a lot of work still needs to be done, I remain optimistic.

Tesla engineers said during the presentation that Optimus would be capable of walking safely or working on a factory floor.

Instead of using Tesla parts, another version of the robot slowly walked onto the stage, pumping its fists and thrusting its hips briefly in time with music.

We just didn’t want to fall flat on our faces,” Musk jokes, adding that the robot was capable of much more than what we just showed you.

Price of a Tesla robots

The price of Tesla’s Optimus robots may drop below $20,000 if they are manufactured at a high rate, Musk said.

Essentially, Musk says, “This means a future of abundance; a future where there is no poverty, a future in which we can have what we want.”

We are living in a fundamentally changing age. It is as if we are witnessing a fundamental change in our society,” he said.

Tesla wants to make sure the transition to a society where robots do the work and people reap the benefits is safe, according to Musk.

Tesla is building in safeguards to avoid going down the Terminator path, referring to a blockbuster film about a cyborg killer, including a non-tamper-proof stop button.

The public will be able to purchase Optimus three to five years from now after Tesla begins testing it on factory floors.

The CEO of Tesla asserted that shareholders would hold the company responsible if they believed it wasn’t doing enough to be socially responsible.

The fact that I can’t just do whatever I want is very important. There is no better structure for that than Tesla’s.”

The Securities and Exchange Commission reprimanded Musk when he stated in a tweet in 2018 that he had acquired funding to take Tesla private, but failed to provide proof.

A $44 billion deal Musk made to take Twitter private now challenged by Twitter in court.
