Today, family, friends, and fans will offer funeral prayers for Arshad Sharif, a renowned journalist and television anchor.

The journalist’s funeral prayers will be offered today at 2pm at the Shah Faisal Mosque in Islamabad. A memorial service will be held i.e. funeral prayers of Shrif at the H-11 cemetery in the federal capital later this week.

A Pakistani military official took Arshad Sharif’s body to Pakistan after he was murdered in Kenya. The body of the deceased arrived at Islamabad airport in the early hours of Wednesday morning. The body was received by members of his family at the Islamabad airport.

During the country’s first report on the case, the police confessed to killing him. A mistaken identity led to Sharif’s shooting in the head, according to Kenyan police.

An eight-member medical board at the PIMS hospital conducted the postmortem on his body at the family’s request. OMFS and an ENT surgeon were also included on the team of doctors at the family’s request.

In addition to the X-rays and CT scans at the hospital, the PIMS medical board examined his body as well.

Today is expected to be the release date for the initial postmortem report.

It may take several days for the PIMS hospital’s forensic team to analyze the samples.

Vawda was murdered premeditatedly

Disputed by the Kenyan police, Faisal Vawda says Arshad Sharif’s murder was premeditated and plotted in Pakistan.

According to the PTI leader, Arshad’s martyrdom was not an accident, but a pre-planned murder. It was at close range that Arshad Sharif was shot down, he pointed out.

In addition, he claimed that “conspirators” threatened and blackmailed Arshad into leaving Pakistan for Dubai.

Imran targeted Arshad for killing

He claimed that Arshad Sharif was targeted as he addressed a lawyer’s convention in Peshawar on Tuesday.

Khan said he knows Arshad Sharif was a victim of a targeted killing, regardless of what anyone says.

It had been reported to me that Sharif would be killed in order to silence the truth.”

So, Sharif reportedly received threats from unknown individuals, according to the former premier.

“He refused to leave the country,” Khan said, adding that Sharif was one of the most respected journalists in the world.

Army seeking high-level inquiry

In response to the journalist’s tragic death, the Pakistan Army Tuesday requested a high-level investigation.

“We have called for a high-level investigation by the government to put an end to all these speculations,” said ISPR DG, Lt Gen Babar Iftikhar.

There needs to be a thorough investigation of every aspect of this horrible incident.”

According to the DG ISPR, it is very unfortunate that people make accusations without any evidence to back them up . I think an exhaustive investigation must be carried out.

Arshad Sharif’s death in Kenyan police account

Kenyan police, searching for a jacked car, opened indiscriminate fire on Sharif’s car, mistaking it for one that had been stolen.

The Kenyan police reported that the car sped through a barricade without stopping, suggesting it had a minor hostage.

Kenyan authorities in contact with government: FO

Pakistan’s Foreign Office said it is actively engaged with Kenyan authorities at multiple levels to speed up the repatriation of Sharif’s remains.

In addition, Pakistan has officially requested that Kenya conduct an investigation into the incident.

Additionally, Acting Foreign Secretary Raza Bashir Tarar met with Kenyan High Commissioner in Islamabad to convey this message.

He also briefed the National Assembly Foreign Relations Committee on the developments.
