A trailer for the movie, which released on November 16, features Tatum in the lead role alongside Salma Hayek, Juliette Motamed, Gavin Spokes, Caitlin Gerard, and Christopher Bencomo. During the course of the story, TV personality Mike Lane is see leaving his hometown to perform onstage at an elaborate dance production in London.
As seen in the video below, Tatum, who is also producing the movie, said in an interview with People that he envisioned Last Dance to be the Super Bowl of strippers.
According to the actor, “I want to do the kind of dancing we haven’t been able to do in either of the other two movies and we wanted to be honest about what reality is like in that world. Which doesn’t mean great dancing,” he said in an interview.
Steven Soderbergh will have the honor of directing Last Dance
This is the second time Steven Soderbergh will have the honor of directing Last Dance. He directed the first movie in 2012, Magic Mike. In an interview with Variety, Grewal explained that the film inspired by the Las Vegas show Magic Mike Live which features male strippers.
Apparently, the movie is sort of a fictionalized depiction of how Mike comes up with the idea for a show. And how he then has to overcome a number of hurdles, of which there are a lot. On his journey towards achieving his vision for what this new thing can offer,” he said.
As the third and final installment of the Magic Mike trilogy, Last Dance is the most recent movie to be released. A previous installment in the series, Magic Mike XXL, was released seven years ago, starring Channing Tatum, Matt Bomer, Kevin Nash, and Joe Manganiello.
As of now, Magic Mike’s Last Dance has announce as the next movie to debut on February 10, 2023. With NBC Universal distributing the movie.
