An investigation team (JIT) seeking to investigate a terrorism case against Imran Khan notified by the capital police on Saturday to appear before it.

Today’s notice issued after the PTI chairman failed to appear today. Before a JIT in connection with an alleged threat he made against a lower court judge.

Because Khan is on bail in the case until September 12, he must appear today at 5pm to answer the investigation team’s questions.

Also earlier this week, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) asked the former prime minister to cooperate with the police.

In a reply sent on Friday, Khan stated that the threats made to a female judge in a rally are not the acts of terrorism and the case should be dismissed based on his innocence.

The PTI leader added that neither the speech nor the actions he took in the speech categorized as terrorism. PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry said on Saturday that the PTI chief’s speech,  not a terrorist act, adding that no one could categorize it as such. The National Assembly speaker said that Imran Khan has always stood up for the rights of laborers. But his words twisted to distort his image.

Defending the JIT case

On August 21, the former prime minister registered under the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) for threatening a senior police officer at a rally in the F-9 Park of the federal capital.

Islamabad’s Margalla Police Station registered the FIR on the complaint of magistrate Ali Javed.

Khan then granted transit bail until August 25 by the IHC, but instructed to approach the ATC, which jurisdiction. As a result, the trial court extended the interim bail in the terrorism case until September 12.
