It appears Instagram will begin testing a feature that will allow users to “repost” content on the platform with selected users, Meta revealed to TechCrunch.

This means that you’ll be able to repost someone else’s content on your own Instagram account. This is different from the “share” button, which lets you share a post from another user’s profile onto your own feed.

In a post on social media, social media consultant Matt Navarra pointed out the new feature for the first time. In addition to the tabs for posts and reels, the option to repost is available.

Navarra also pointed out that Instagram has not officially announced the feature, so it’s unclear if it will be available to all users. Whether or not you have access, Navarra emphasized that reposting is currently only available from the main feed.

How to use the Instagram upcoming feature?

Researchers have also noted the same feature in May, including Alessandro Paluzzi. The report button is located on the top of a post, next to the “share” option.

If you click on it, you can enter your own username or hashtag and select who you want to share your post with.

During a recent interview, a spokesperson at Meta said the company was looking into the possibility of resharing posts in the feed.

Like Instagram’s story resharing feature, this also allows you to reshare stories. According to the email, this is one of the reasons creators should receive credit for their works.

The Instagram platform does not currently allow users to share posts on their personal profiles. Despite this, the new feature appears to be of interest to frequent users since it allows them to share what they find meaningful on their Feed instead of a Story that disappears after 24 hours.

This feature may be useful for those who want to share their personal thoughts and feelings without having to create a post. However, some users are concerned that this could lead to people sharing posts without giving credit to the original creator.
