A 30-year-old hero of  Wazirabad who overpowered an attacker on Imran Khan on Thursday urges the PTI chairman to hold rallies in bulletproof containers.

“There is no eye on the bullet, so it can hit anyone, but we have only one Imran Khan that the nation cannot afford to lose,” said the party supporter.

In protective custody of the Punjab government, Mr Hassan runs an online business selling stainless utensils. The Punjab chief minister’s house is where he’s been staying since Thursday night after government officials drove him to Lahore for his safety.

Mr Hassan said he has been staying at the chief minister’s residence since Thursday evening. Two dozen members of the PTI legislature saluted him in the presence of a contingent of Punjab police. Despite not being active in the PTI, he said he supports Imran Khan’s “revolutionary vision for Pakistan”.

The PTI has been the party I’ve voted for since the 2013 general election. On the Punjab Assembly seat, I voted for the Jamaat-i-Islami candidate, and on the National Assembly seat, I voted for the PTI candidate,” he said. PTI leader Ali Zaidi had advised him not to speak to any Indian or Brazilian news channels despite receiving calls (because of the sensitive nature of the situation).

I leaned towards the attacker as soon as I spotted him with a pistol in his hand; by the time I grabbed it, he had fired several shots,” he said. In addition to him, Moazzam Gondal was standing behind him with a pistol. However, he was hit by one of the bullets and died as a result.

Despite trying to flee, the attacker was eventually captured near the scene in a car parking lot. It was more important for the country for Imran Khan to live than he had any regrets about risking his life.

The PTI leader says he has requested several PTI leaders arrange bullet-proof vehicles for Khan’s rallies. His claim was that he  not involved in politics and did not wish to become famous. The problem is how can an ordinary guy get justice if an ex-prime minister can’t get justice because he  kicked out of the government?” he asked.

He replied to a question that he agreed with Mr Khan’s demand to have a two-thirds majority in parliament to create reform.

Ibtisam met Imran Khan at Shaukat Khanum Hospital and invited him to Wazirabad, where he lives. When he travels to the city, Khan promises to visit his place.
